Collection 08 - Cloud Study c.1800

This beautiful early evening cloud filled sky as seen through the eyes of Belgian artist Simon Denis.  Part of a curated collection of soft toned historic pieces, Simon Denis was a Flemish Artist who painted mainly in Italy where he died in 1813.  

The attention to detail in the billows using tones of gray, pink, blue and white create this stunning sky landscape which is beautifully accented with a distressed white painted frame.
