Edward Lear, Sulphur Crested Cockatoo
Edward Lear (1812 - 1888) was an English artist, illustrator, musician, author and poet. One of the greatest ornithological artists of his era, he was compared favourably with the naturalist John James Audubon.
These prints of Lear’s graphite and watercolour darwings, ca. 1830, relate to his first major publication, ‘Illustrations of the Family of Psittacidae, or Parrots’ (1832).
This gorgeous framed print measures 24" x 36".
